Character Spotlight: The Phoenix Force
The embodiment of limitless cosmic energy — The Phoenix Force — joins the battle in MARVEL SNAP!
On Reveal: Revive one of your destroyed cards and merge with it. That card can move each turn.
In the final moments of the previous universe, the Phoenix Force saved all of existence from eternal damnation and was subsequently reborn from the cosmic fires of the Big Bang that created the current universe.
The Force takes the form of an immensely powerful and beautiful cosmic entity, traveling through the universe as a giant fiery bird. When it encounters a worthy host, it fuses with that being and transforms them into the Phoenix. The Phoenix, whether as itself or possessing a being, holds near infinite cosmic power capable of unfathomable good and evil. As such, the Phoenix Force must be regarded as an extinction-level threat.
Humanity first witnessed the Phoenix Force when it replaced Jean Grey during a shuttle crash and saved the X-men and crew onboard. Instead of possessing her, the Force placed Jean Grey in stasis at the bottom of the ocean and impersonated her, becoming the powerful superhero known as Phoenix.
Phoenix has been reborn numerous times and taken hold of many hosts, including Dark Phoenix (Jean Grey), Cyclops, Namor, Magik, and Colossus. Eventually, the heroes managed to drive away the Phoenix, seemingly for good…
…It was only a matter of time before the blazing cosmic entity returned to possess a new host —
Now, the Phoenix Force will merge with other characters in MARVEL SNAP!!
On Reveal: Revive one of your destroyed cards and merge with it. That card can move each turn.
In MARVEL SNAP, the Phoenix Force revives one of your destroyed cards and takes control of it.
The Force is especially benefitted by resurrecting cards which enjoy moving, such as the Human Torch or Multiple Man.
Shuri also synergizes extremely well with the Phoenix Force, as her effect doubles the combined power of both Phoenix and the revived card.
On Reveal synergies are often wonderful targets for Phoenix Force to resurrect, as it triggers the effect another time.
Phoenix Force is at its absolute strongest when locations like Death’s Domain or Vormir appear, enabling a potent combination of both destruction and the ability to move the Force to hard-to-reach locations.
Let us welcome the omnipotent, everlasting, and infinitely powerful force that is the Phoenix Force to MARVEL SNAP!
